Di Canio - Mistakes Cost Us

23 October 2012

TOWN manager Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after his side's 2-1 defeat at Crewe...

On goals conceded...

We made mistakes for the goals and that's why we lost the game. It means a lot for me because we had the quality and desire overall but individual mistakes cost us.

On the embargo...

We must fix the situation. We had a lot of time in their box but didn't have the finisher in there. We need another striker and someone in the middle of the field who can create. We have paid the price. It's not just the embargo, players need a rest. It's not easy if we don't have the options.

On team changes...

We gave Ritchie a rest an played De Vita and he did well for the goal. We are missing key players and at the moment we don't have the way to work in a tactical way. Crewe kept the ball better early on but we don't have a real striker who can score many goals. It's not easy. We need a top scorer.
