Ward - We Were Dominant

17 October 2012

DARREN Ward believes that Swindon were the dominant team against Coventry on Saturday despite both sides sharing the points.

Speaking to the official website on Tuesday afternoon, Ward reviewed the 2-2 draw and praised the way the team had bounced back in the second forty-five.

“Overall we looked the dominant team without a shadow of a doubt,” he said. “When you look at the attempts on goal and the amount of time they got into our box compared to when we got into theirs, we totally outnumbered them and it was good to see. Reflecting on the game, although we conceded two and they had little spells here and there actual chances on our goal were few and far between.

“It was disappointing from us in the first half - to concede two at home isn’t good enough but I thought the way we responded was a credit to the lads and the comeback mentality that we made and applied was really good to see and we were unfortunate not to get the win in the end.

He added: “It’s a draw and you never know what impact that can have at the end of the season. So although we were disappointed not to win and to concede two goals, we didn’t lose and we’re still unbeaten which is good and hopefully the next game we can get a win.”
