I am now fit and raring to go after missing a couple of games through injury. I had a problem with my knee before the MK Dons game and was back on the bench at Preston and I feel fine. I’m ready to try and get back in the team and everyone is looking forward to the Oxford game.
The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy was a really enjoyable competition for Swindon last season. I only joined at the semi-final stage and they were great games to be involved in. The final, whilst disappointing to lose, as an occasion it was a great experience for the lads to play in.
We want to get to the final this year and go better and that starts with a local derby at Oxford. What better way to get the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy campaign underway?
My memories of playing there last season aren’t great due to the result - against ten men too. We lacked a little bit of something on the day but this time we will be looking to put in a more accomplished performance to get us into the second round. We take the competition seriously and it is a realistic chance of silverware.
Winning breeds confidence and everyone is looking to the game.
See you there.
Benno.
