Bessone - Ready For Action

7 September 2012

NEW signing Federico Bessone could make his home debut for the Robins at The County Ground this weekend and he’s eager to make an impact.

The defender started for Town at Oxford United on Wednesday night and is in competition with Jay McEveley for a left-back slot against Leyton Orient this weekend.

He said: “I felt okay on Wednesday although I know my fitness will get better.

“I knew that the Oxford game was a very important one for the club and we have to say sorry to the fans that came to support us.

“Now we have a home game this Saturday and I am looking forward to it. I will prepare myself in the right way, but whether I play is the manager’s decision. All I can do is try and help the team and if I get a chance, I will do my best.”

Having joined The County Ground ranks after a spell with Premier League side Swansea City, the 28-year old is hoping to be a part of something special under Paolo Di Canio.

He continued: “The gaffer here wants to play good football and there are similarities with what I saw at Swansea.

“Paolo Di Canio told me all about his plans for the club and that was very important to me.”
