Di Canio - We Didn't Take Our Chances

16 September 2012

TOWN manager Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after watching his side earn a point at Carlisle United...

On the performance

I thought we improved a lot since last week but this doesn't make me enjoy. Today we played much better than last week but it wasn't enough to win.

They have two shots on target and scored two goals from two defensive mistakes from us. We were many times in their box but nobody was angry enough to score a goal so we have to now improve the individual determination and the responsibility. One day in the past we would lose this game so today is an improvement but it is a shame for me anyway - better one point than zero

They couldn't handle our level of football and fitness but we didn't take our chances so in general now we have to gradually build the confidence.

On Town's attacking threat

The mechanism we have got but it's not enough. Obviously if we create enough chances next time we have to score because now it's true that we don't play fantastic but if you create eight clear chances we have to score more.

On Swindon's goals

Until today we didn't score many goals with the strikers so I'm happy because he (Rooney) scored a good goal and showed the quality he has got. Even Benno - he scored a goal in a good manner and I'm happy.

On Gary Roberts

It is obvious that when he goes one v one and delivers the ball he is a very dangerous guy. He attacked the back post in a fantastic way and he was unlucky not to score, the goalkeeper made a fantastic save.
