Ferry - It's Been A While

29 September 2012

SIMON Ferry made an instant impact on his return to the Town side, scoring the winning goal at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon.

The Scot slotted home from close range in the 78th minute at The Greenhaus Meadow to earn the Robins their fourth consecutive victory. It was the midfielder’s first goal of the season and speaking to the media after the game, he was pleased with the afternoon’s work.

He said: “I was pleased with the goal as it’s been a while for me. I don’t get many but saw the ball bounced up and managed to put it away.

“In the second half we got to grips with the game a lot more and passed it a lot better. We felt the goal would come and the chance came my way. If anyone was going to miss it I thought it would be me, but it went in.

“It’s another big win for us against a difficult side. Shrewsbury have had a great record here and we have come away with the win. Now we need to keep things going and focus ahead of Tuesday night and Colchester.”
