The two sides have not met at SN1 since October 1993, when Villa came to Wiltshire for a Premier League fixture and returned to the Midlands with a 2-1 win.
A tie against Paul Lambert's men also throws up another anniversary: Villa were the opponents in February 1992 when Town hosted the first ever live televised match from The County Ground. Goals from Dwight Yorke and Steve Froggatt secured a 2-1 win for Ron Atkinson's side.
A number of a players have played for both clubs over the years including the likes of Phil King, Shay Given, Steve Cowe and Paul Rideout.
