TOWN manager Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after seeing his team lose 1-0 at home to Leyton Orient.
On the result…
The performance was not usual for us. It wasn’t a good moment in terms of the result a few days ago but this can happen. We have had many changes over the summer and played very well at the start of the season. I couldn’t imagine that this year would be like last, but we have to discover why. Today was the worst performance of the season.
On the home record…
The record we had at home was fantastic but this was a bad moment for us in terms of passion, commitment and desire. It was a tough moment because we started the game badly. This game – and at Preston – we deserved to lose because we did not have the desire to win in our play. Now we must turn direction otherwise things will get difficult. We are not perfect and knew we would lose at home one day, but today was not the way we know we can play.
On the new signings…
We brought in five new signings only a few days ago and it will take time for them to understand the way we play. We have to work hard and have a full week of training next week so we can work with the players.
On the substitutions…
We made changes because it was a consequence of the actions in open play. I didn’t recognise the way the two strikers played and it wasn’t with the principal that we want to play. Maybe the strikers felt the pressure too much? The goals will come but the problem at the moment is that our front play is a little too frantic.
