PDC On Derby Defeat

5 September 2012

TOWN boss Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after watching his side go down by a goal to nil at local rivals Oxford United.

On the defeat...

We didn't have one shot on target and we have given them a gift. It wasn't a classic performance but what can we say? One silly mistake gave them the chance and finished the game. We will travel back with hurt in our stomach and our hearts.

On the new faces...

There were some good signs. Fede did very well and Rooney played wide, which he will have to adjust to.

On the goal...

For a few of my players they have to take a step forward. Some of them have limits because some, like Flint, switched off. The brain is a part of every athlete but they can't switch off. We will work because Flint is a good professional but there is more work to do.

On the wide areas...

The wide areas are crucial for me but today we didn't threaten in those areas. We have Ritchie and Roberts to come back and that will give us more options.
