WHILE Saturday’s fixture at Sheffield United may have ended in defeat for Town, it proved to be a memorable occasion for Mark Francis who made his senior bow against the Blades.
The Academy Scholar was a second-half replacement for James Collins and afterwards he spoke to the waiting media.
"It was definitely great for me,” he said. “It was not a great result for the team but it was great experience for me and I hope to get a few more like it.
“I’ve seen them (the lads) play better (this season) and hopefully they’ll play a bit better (on Tuesday).
“It was different to the youth team. It was a much quicker tempo and it was physically tougher but I felt good on the ball.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I found out this morning that I would be on the bench. If the gaffer wants me to play I’ll do my best.”
