KM: Very disappointing

1 April 2013

TOWN manager Kevin MacDonald spoke to the media after his team's 1-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers.

ON THE DEFEAT
We deserved a draw but they had more possession and chances. We started well but it's very disappointing for us and for the fans. We came here to win but it didn't work out. We're very disappointed with our performance. It's the first time I can say that we were indifferent.

ON MISTAKES MADE
We had two or three half chances but the pitch made things difficult. A lot of their chances were our mistakes. We've got to get our heads down and get stuck into the last five games. Wes (Foderingham) had a tremndous game. We pride ourselves on defence and the boy got a free header. We want to try and stop these mistakes and get on with it.

ON GAMES AHEAD
I thought we were well in the game. They started to pressure us a little but I felt that there was no real need to change it until the goal went in. If we win our last five games it's in our reach. We'll wait and see. We're top scorers, we have the best defensive record - we need to regroup and get the right results. The next fve games are important. We'll take each game as it comes, set ourselves up for MK Dons and get back to our level of performance. If we do I'll back us to beat anybody.

ON INJURIES
Andy (Williams) hurt his ankle on Friday and we didn't see the point starting him. The physio thinks it's a couple of weeks before he's (Nathan Thompson) available again. We'll need to see how he is. Jay (McEveley) has an ongoing problem with his knee and Tommy (Miller) has a calf problem. Hopefully they'll be available for next Tuesday.
