'Not Good Enough'

13 April 2013

ALAN McCormack says that Swindon’s performance at Sheffield United on Saturday was nowhere near good enough.

The Town skipper told the media after Saturday’s match that they need to pinpoint what went wrong and prepare for the home clash with Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday.

“That wasn’t anywhere near good enough,” he said. “The lads are frustrated and a bit down. If you don’t have confidence you’ve got to have 100% work rate - we worked hard this week and that’s very frustrating.

“We’ve got to evaluate and look at the reasons why that is. Hopefully we can be big men and find the answers.

“It’s a difficult time. Everyone’s so keen to do the right things that it’s having a negative effect and we need to relax a bit more. It means a lot to the players - we work extremely hard.

“Personally I think it’s a confidence thing. We’ve lost that extra spark. There’s so much pressure at this stage. The manager got into us at half time and he could have taken eleven of us off but we’ve just got to go again.”
