Cooper - We Were Unlucky

3 August 2013

CARETAKER Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the waiting media after the game.

On the result
I thought we were extremely unlucky. The manner in which we played I thought we deserved a point. We probably could have threatened the goal a little bit more. We always said it would be a work in progress but once we started to play I don’t think Peterborough got out of their half. We just needed that goal. We didn’t get it but thoroughly pleased with the performance I thought the second half was tremendous.

On the performance
It has to be (a passing team). We’ve got some wonderful footballers in the team and you saw at times we cut them open in the middle of the pitch but we just didn’t get that goal. Credit to the players today they were tremendous.

On the atmosphere in the dressing room
They’re a new group just come together. I think if you give them four or five games together you’ll see something exciting. They’re frustrated - they felt they should have got something out of the game. They’re saying let’s get ready for Tuesday now.
