CARETAKER Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon’s 1-0 win over Stevenage.

On the win
The goal was breathtaking in the way we moved it. When you play that well and go in at half time 1-0 up I don’t care who it is we were under a bit of pressure. We still tried to move around in the second half but we didn’t do as well. We defended resolutely.

On the first half performance
That performance was no surprise with the way we’ve been playing. That’s the product of the group working hard every day. They’ll only get better.

On the goal
We were getting “oles” at 0-0. It always gives me a bit of a worry because we don’t want to take the mickey but the goal was fantastic. We’ll be playing that back to the players and telling them that’s what we’re after. They thoroughly enjoyed the first half.

On the most satisfying part of the performance
The players are taking on board what we’re trying to do. You have to look at a group of players and decide a way of playing. They’ve grasped it with both hands and they’re getting better every game.
