MASSIMO Luongo was delighted with the way he opened his Swindon account for the season after helping Town to their first three points of the campaign.
The on-loan midfielder struck in the first half to seal the win and says that he is happy to be off the mark.
“The boys said we kept it for ten or eleven passes,” he beamed. “We did well getting it out of the back. It came to me - I was a bit selfish but knew I wanted a shot before I got the ball. It went in and I’m happy to get my first of the season. I did hit it quite well and over the moon it went in.
“The boys did brilliantly playing out from the back. We did well and looked good on the ball.
“Stevenage found a way to slow us down in the second half. It’s a learning curve to keep the style but fair play to the boys - we stuck it out for 90 minutes and we’ll learn for the next game.
“It’s a good foundation for the season. We’re just looking forward to next week.”
