SATURDAY’S fixture against Stevenage will see the Town’s new Rockin’ Robin make his County Ground debut.
Following the departure of Tom Hartley in the summer, Josh Lambdon will now don the well-known suit after coming through a series of auditions.
“I’m excited,” he said. “It’s a big pair of shoes to fill but I think I’ll be bringing some good moves to the table and hopefully I’ll be up to the job.”
Josh explained how he came to hear about the role.
“One of my friends pointed it out to me,” he said. “I’ve got some good moves on a Saturday night so I thought it would be a good thing to go for and low and behold I made it through the auditions.”
The new Town mascot revealed that he was keen to bring something different to the Rockin’ Robin Haka.
“I’ve already worked out a pre-match meal of worms and a little bit of bird seed - quite balanced I think.
“Obviously stretching is key - I don’t want to be pulling anything out on the pitch. In terms of a dance routine, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I’m bringing some classic moves mixed in with some sort of new style.
“I was a Junior Robin in the early 2000’s so I’m just excited and hopefully I can bring some entertainment to the Swindon Town fans.”
