Sky Bet Weekend Preview

30 August 2013

MARK Cooper was denied a first win since being named permanent Swindon boss only by a late Gillingham equaliser at the weekend.

Overall Town had the better of the 90 minutes and they’ll look to make amends against visitors whom they beat 4-1 in the corresponding fixture last season and thus maintain their unbeaten home record.

Mark Cooper didn't have to wait long for a win as Town recorded a victory against QPR at Loftus Road in the Capital One Cup and have been rewarded with a home tie against Premier League side, Chelsea.

What’s very much in the Robins’ favour for this fixture is that against bottom-half teams, like Crewe, they’ve opened the scoring in 8 of 11 such home matches and won six with just a solitary defeat. Crewe have lost seven of their last eight away games when conceding first and have also lost five of their last nine trips to teams like Swindon.  Swindon to win is 4/5 with Sky Bet and to score 1st they are 4/7.

Three of Swindon’s four games thus far have been low scoring as have both Crewe away games. Under 2.5 goals looks attractive at 5/6 with Sky Bet.

Other Reasons To Bet:

• Swindon have won three of their last four matches at the County Ground
• Robins have been leading at half-time in three of their last four home games
• There have been over 2.5 goals in three of Swindon's last four home matches against middle-third teams
