TOWN stopper Wes Foderingham admits that Swindon did not start quickly enough in Saturday’s defeat at Shrewsbury.
A goal in either half at Greenhous Meadow condemned Town to their second successive away day defeat and Foderingham says that after conceding so early in the game, it was always going to be a struggle to get back into the game.
“We didn’t start quickly enough,” he admitted post-match. “I think we thought it was just going to happen for us. We turned up and weren’t 100% in what we were doing - we were too slow passing the ball, closing people down and I think when you do that you’re looking at defeat.
“We’re going to concede goals like that (with the way we play). It was a square ball across the back which is looking for trouble if you ask me and I think from there it was just an uphill battle trying to come back from going 1-0 down so early in the game.
“If we didn’t make those mistakes we would have come out of the game with at least a draw.”
