NSPCC Visit

10 December 2013

TOWN’s Darren Ward, Tyrell Belford and Louis Thompson paid a visit to the NSPCC centre in Old Town, Swindon on Monday afternoon.

Accompanied by Karen Randall, STFC’s main contact with the charity, the players took bags of Christmas presents along with them to hand out to the children. They also signed autographs and had their pictures taken.

Afterwards, the group sat down with representatives of the NSPCC and were told where any money raised goes and what it helps to achieve. With the NSPCC being the Club’s chosen Charity of the Year, it’s very important to bring the partnership together and work closely with one another.

The Club have only just started this partnership and have lots of ideas planned to help raise as much money as possible. Event dates are in the diary so keep a look out as details will follow in due course.

The NSPCC have already held matchday collections at The County Ground and have so far raised around £1000 from fan donations. The Club appreciates any help from supporters: you always play a big part in the nominated charity’s fundraising.
