Devera's Injury Frustration

18 February 2013

JOE Devera says that his current injury situation is the most frustrating of his career.

His comeback from the initial problem lasted just 35 minutes at Leyton Orient but the defender says that after a fortnight of rehabilitation, he is edging closer to a first team return.

“It’s been very frustrating,” he revealed. “It’s probably the most frustrating injury I’ve ever had because I’d just come back fit and it happened again so it’s been very annoying.”

“I’m feeling a bit better now. I’ve done two weeks of rehab and I’m starting to come towards the end of that so I’m starting to look towards getting back fit and joining back in with the team. I’ve just started running now so I’m going to see how the next few days go.”

Despite the frustration of not playing, the former Barnet man remains positive and anticipates that his return to the Town defence will be a smooth transition.

“It’s just one of those things,” he said. “I’ll have to take it how it is and just keep working, making sure I’m fit and making sure I’m right.

“As soon as I come back I’ll obviously have to work to get back in the team to start with then hopefully that relationship (with Swindon’s defence) will still be there.”
