SIMON Ferry scored his third goal of the season but the strike was Town’s only goal on a frustrating afternoon at The County Ground.
The Scot finished off a sweeping first half move but the Robins could not build on the advantage and were held to a 1-1 draw by the League One strugglers.
Speaking after the game, Ferry said: “I don’t remember too much about the goal but I hit it first time and was glad to see it went in. If I had brought it under control it would have gone in the stand. It was good to get the early goal but we didn’t capitalise on it.
“I don’t think the performance was really good enough. Fair play to Hartlepool because they played their stuff and got the point.
“We have to finish teams off but we have to make sure we look forward to Tranmere now.”
