FITC Education Programme

5 February 2013

SWINDON Town Football in the Community Trust this week enters the next phase of recruitment for the 2013 intake of Football and Futsal Scholars.

With 20 places up for grabs and six scholars already confirmed onto the course, this week’s trials, held on Saturday 9th Feb, involving 30 new applicants should see the course filled in the near future.

There is still time for anyone with an interest in the Education Programme, which involves the completion of a Level 3 BTEC in Sports alongside daily training and the opportunity to compete in regional and national leagues against other professional clubs running this course. STFITC have also integrated into the programme structure a detailed and innovative work experience package that is unique to anything else on offer in the town.

Adam Tribbick, Education Officer for STFITC, explained the aims of this innovative new programme. He said: “The idea of this Education Programme is to provide scholars with access to a first class education that provides them with the skills and knowledge needed to progess onto university and future employment.

"Our focus is to develop our scholars into young people who possess important employment skills with the potential to move onto an employment path of their choosing.”

For anyone wishing to apply to take part in Saturday’s trials please email Adam on adam@stfc-fitc.co.uk or phone the Community Trust office on (01793) 421303. Opportunities after this weekend may not be available so contact us now to make sure you are not disappointed to miss out on this innovative new sixth form option.
