TOWN striker Paul Benson has joined League Two promotion chasers Cheltenham Town on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Benson, who joined Swindon from Charlton Athletic in January 2012, has played 13 times for the Reds this term as well as seven games during a loan spell at Portsmouth.
With first team opportunities now limited at The County Ground, the experienced frontman has signed a deal until the end of the season at The Abbey Business Stadium.
Manager Paolo Di Canio was full of praise for the striker.
“He has been fantastic for us but this season we have tried to play in a different way to last season," he said.
“Paul is very fit, very athletic and a great professional. In the way we play it has been difficult for him so we have been fair to him so he can move on."
