PDC - A Fantastic Point

12 January 2013

MANAGER Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after his side’s point at AFC Bournemouth

On the performance…
Once again I have to mark my attention to the performance because it was a fantastic point. Against one of the best sides in this league and in the way we came back makes me more than proud because my lads did a fantastic job. Now we carry on. Today is important because we didn’t give up, we showed very good football for the conditions and we dominated the occasion. They had chances but the point is important

On missed chances…
The first half we had chances. They have two situations in the box that put us under pressure and one strike from Arter that was quality. We had two situations but we have to be more clinical, more nasty because you have to try and strike. Sometimes we play ‘tipi-tappy’ football: this drives me crazy sometimes.

On ‘the group’…
We created four or five chances: that is something amazing. This is a group now. This gives me confirmation because of the quality and determination to win the point. (For the goal) Chris Martin pressed and didn’t give up so we have to say that the substitutes determined something. They work very well they were crucial and that makes me even more happy because it confirms to me that it’s a real group.

On the travelling support…
There was a lot of enthusiasm being the first away game after Christmas so we have to give thanks to them. Full of expectation, I hope they have the chance to keep going and follow us. We know that together as a unit we can fight and hopefully we can stay there and go into the next game full of adrenaline.
