Manager Paolo Di Canio spoke to the media after his side's win over Shrewsbury

On a difficult week…
I was very pleased that the players gave their best today. This week has been difficult because we haven’t trained like usual – we even trained here in the Legends Lounge on Friday morning. The players are real professionals but they kept their focus. There was no way we would not train ahead of the game and they have become the pillars for us.

On the win…
The first half was bad but we could not go through. I would like to thank the players for the win but in a special way I must thank all the volunteers. For that I told the players if they lost today they would be at Liddington tomorrow at 5am. I was shoveling snow last night without proper shoes and I told them I wanted determination on the pitch from them.

On the goals scored…
The foul was on the opposite side so I didn’t have a good view but there was a pull and Andy Williams is a very quick player. I thought it was a penalty looking at the dynamics. We proved that we are capable of lighting the fire and we scored the goals to get the win. We didn’t start the game well but we started the second half in a different way. This team is like a cannibal team, once they have one they want more and more.

On the penalty save…
You have to give credit completely to Wes. We give our team the best details and Domenico works well with him, but Wes is the protagonist. Today Wes had to work very hard and we have three points.

On Danny Hollands…
It looks like he may have to have an X-Ray which will be done in the next few minutes. It is around the toe area and it is in a crucial place for foot pressure. I hope it is not a big damage. It doesn’t look very good but we will see what’s going on.

On the snow clearing effort…
I would like to thank the players for the win but in a special way I would like to thank the volunteers and the office staff here for last night. To Adam, Chris and Tommy – and to all the fans and to my technical staff. We ordered pizza for the volunteers and it was an emotional moment to see everyone working together. The fact we won was a present to everyone for their hard work last night.
