Work paying off

20 January 2013

PAOLO Di Canio believes the hard work put in on the training ground is paying dividends after seeing his side climb to third in League One.

The Robins were 2-0 winners over Shrewsbury Town at The County Ground on Saturday with goals from Chris Martin and Andy Williams seeing the Reds end the day in high spirits.

He said: “In the way we get results is not an accident. We have good ability an good quality here. As staff we work well and give the right details, the best, to the players here. The players stick together and it is clear that in this period we can go out and finish well. Other teams don’t have as many options but we have been working so hard.

“We have had many games but we have been working the players very hard. The players have been training on Sundays and they don’t have Wednesdays off like other teams. Why do some teams train less? We train more. The lads have given me their availability and this year their work has come more naturally.

“I can’t wait to go to Tranmere next week and try and win on their ground. It should be a fantastic game.”
