CARETAKER Manager Mark Cooper assessed Town’s 3-0 defeat to Birmingham City in the presence of the local media after the game.
On the performance
It was a long night. The energy had gone and it was a difficult test. I’m glad we got through without injuries. You could see we tried to pass it but there’s a lot of tired legs out there. Tonight matters in terms of fitness but not the result.
On fatigue
In spells we passed it well but without really threatening. I thought they gave everything again and it must have been difficult for them after last night. The adrenaline got them through last night but tonight, against a team that’s fresh, it was always going to be tough.
On goals conceded
When you get tired you make silly mistakes and that happened tonight.
