Hard work continues

5 July 2013

KEVIN MacDonald is hoping his side can round off their second week of pre-season training with another full workout at Banbury United this evening.

Town head to The Spencer Stadium for what will be their second pre-season run-out inside four days – and the players will also be in training on the morning of the game.

MacDonald said: “Most of the lads have been in for a fortnight now but there have been a few new signings since then.

“Whether those new players feature at Banbury we shall have to wait and see. Even if they get half an hour or so then it would be a good end to a week of hard, physical training.

“Wes Foderingham will play on Friday but the game will come too soon for Louis Thompson who won’t feature.”

There was also an update on defensive duo Troy Archibald-Henville and Jay McEveley who have both returned from an intense spell of rehabilitation work at St. George’s Park.

“Troy and Jay have come back have done some light running at the training ground.

“That’s the plan for them because we don’t want to push them too far, too soon.”
