CARETAKER Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon’s 1-1 draw with Spurs.
On the draw
I was pleased with the players because they’ve carried out the game plan. We were done by the sucker punch but after that we were magnificent. With the mismatch we had even the young boys who came on all did well so credit to each and every one of them..
On the performance
We’ve come on strong in the second half. Every player they brought on was a top player so every bit of credit is deserved. I don’t want to single anyone out but the midfield did well so did Andy Williams and Alex Pritchard showed great technique. The lads at the back were terrific as well.
On Gareth Bale
I was pleased I was here to watch it (his goal). He’s a fantastic specimin and to watch him and the way he plays is phenomenal. We stuck at it and did what we had to do.
On tomorrow’s game against Birmingham City
I can’t give them enough praise tonight but we start again tomorrow. It was a great atmosphere and they responded to the crowd at the end. It’s important to get a bit of positivity around the place. It will be the same squad as tonight but we’ll try to rotate. We will have a session tomorrow and make sure they’re ready to go tomorrow night.
