Tour Diaries: Wes Foderingham

25 July 2013

TOWN'S Wes Foderingham is the latest player to chat to swindontownfc.co.uk about the training camp in Portugal...

It’s been great so far. We’ve had a nice mix of training and team bonding. Training has been hard obviously because of the heat. We’ve done a lot of work with the ball which is good but we’ve bonded really well and we’re all coming together.

With Fraser Digby not out here, Academy Goalkeeping Coach Steve Hale is leading our sessions. Steve and Fraser are obviously both English goalkeeping coaches so you go through a similar routine. The sessions are slightly different but the stuff we work on is fairly similar.

I do think it is important to get away in pre-season because pre-season can be a long, hard slog. Say if you have six weeks of pre-season and stay in England doing running every day it can get a bit repetitive so it’s good to get away for a week and have a change of scenery.

I mentioned that all the lads get on really well and we have seen one or two pranks being played over the course of the week. I won’t mention names but somebody played a prank yesterday on Paul Godfrey the first team physio. They mixed hair gel with coffee and put it all over the door handle of his hotel room - he wasn’t too happy when he came back after dinner and tried to open the door!
