KM: Chances created

23 March 2013

Manager Kevin MacDonald's views after the 0-0 home draw against Notts County at The County Ground.

On the result…

A 0-0 draw isn’t what we wanted. The players and I are disappointed but we can look forward to the Easter programme and maybe we can take our chances next time. I felt that we played good enough football but we didn’t have enough shots in the first half. We started creating chances again in the final stages but we have to marry everything together.

On chances created…

James Collins had a few chances but he will always find an opening. He will always score goals and he did well during the week and scored at Yeovil. We played a system that means the players can press high up the pitch and work forward. Notts County are a big side and we had to make amends for that too.

On Town support…

The fans were fantastic. You could hear them willing the players on and we could have had the goal that we so wanted at the end.

On team changes…

Alan McCormack was fantastic again and he had to come in for Jay McEveley who we couldn’t risk with a knee injury. Louis Thompson came on and did very well too. All the players did well and we have to try and see things through now for the next seven games. Tommy Miller had to come off with a dead leg so we will see how he is going into the Easter programme.

On the run-in…

There are seven games to go and we have to play Doncaster next Monday and that’s going to be a big game. The games have been very close and it could go all the way to the last game of the season.
