With eleven minutes on the clock, Town took the lead. Andy Williams saw his cross deflected back to him. As he shifted it onto his left foot, his driven effort ricocheted off Saddlers’ skipper Andy Butler, thumped off the turf and looped into the far corner over the sprawling Aaron McCarey.
Tommy Miller and Alan McCormack both saw efforts well saved before the visitors drew level on the half-hour.

After the break, Town were on the attack from the off and Aden Flint nodded wide from a corner.
Alan McCormack twice went close with dipping efforts that arrowed over the crossbar.
After battling away for the majority of the second half, Town nudged ahead courtesy of Simon Ferry. Substitute Adam Rooney’s shot was spilled by the goalkeeper and Ferry was on hand to hook home from inside the box.
