TOWN manager Kevin MacDonald insists the search for potential new recruits has already begun ahead of the close of the emergency transfer window.

MacDonald took charge of his first game as Robins boss at Coventry City on Saturday and saw his side come from a goal down to take all three points.

Defender Joe Devera returned from injury to take his place on the bench at The Ricoh Arena, although the squad remains short on numbers with three players – Paul Benson, Paul Caddis and Lee Cox - out on loan deals until the end of the season.

With the emergency loan transfer deadline closing at 5pm on Thursday 28th March, MacDonald and his staff are already casting an interested eye in the transfer market.

MacDonald told STFC Player: “The first few days were mainly about getting in and making sure we got the right result at the weekend. Thankfully we won the game and it’s been a bright start to the week.

“Myself, Mark and a couple of other people have already been out watching games. The aim is to see who is out there and to see if there are players that could come in and improve the squad.

“We may look to add a little more depth to the squad we have here and that work, in terms of research, has already begun. The real hard work starts now.”

An exclusive video with MacDonald is now online for STFC Player subscribers as he outlines his first few days in charge and what he expects from his next Town game. Watch for free today as part of the STFC Player FREE TRIAL.
