Town wait on Thompson

29 March 2013

NATHAN Thompson is set to miss Monday’s promotion showdown with Doncaster Rovers with an ankle injury.

The right-back was forced off early in the second half in the home draw with Oldham Athletic and could be ruled out for the League One encounter at The Keepmoat Stadium on Monday lunchtime.

Speaking shortly after Friday’s home draw, manager Kevin MacDonald said:

“Nathan had to come off with an ankle injury. It was an indifferent tackle but these things happen in football.

“We will have to wait and see how bad it is but I am sure we will get a clearer picture over the next 24 to 48 hours.”

Tommy Miller missed Friday’s game with the Latics, with MacDonald providing an update on the midfielder’s progress.

He said: “Tommy has played through an injury for the last few weeks so we will see if he can be available for the last few games.

"It’s not something he can play through again but we will see how he is for Monday and beyond.”
