'We have to finish chances'

29 March 2013

TOWN manager Kevin MacDonald spoke to the media after his side's 1-1 draw with Oldham

On the draw…
We created a lot of chances but the lads created plenty of chances. It’s a bit disappointing because we have to finish the chances that come up. We could have done with the win today to set us up for Monday. It wasn’t just the strikers because chances fell across the park. We lacked that little bit of conviction.

On the goal conceded…
Alan held his hand up for the goal but you concede as a team and score as a team. There should have been cover there but we have spoken about it. Oldham got their point and are fighting for survival.

On Rooney’s goal…
It was a terrific goal and from some terrific play. It was a great goal and I am sure he will be happy to look at that one again and again.

On the new signings…
They all performed well. Nathan Byrne came on and did very well and I thought Dean Parrett created a lot of chances. Massimo did well and got involved straightaway. They didn’t have long with the squad before the game but we needed to change things a little. We have said all along that the players we have brought in have come in to complement the good players we have here.
