Will to win

21 March 2013

AFTER a winning return to Yeovil on Tuesday night, Andy Williams believes Town fans can play their part at The County Ground this weekend.

The 26-year old enjoyed a successful midweek visit to his former club with goals from Adam Rooney and James Collins securing an important away victory. Williams, who made 72 appearances for Yeovil in a two-year stay at Huish Park, was delighted with another win on the road.

He said: “It was a much-needed win but we didn’t play as well as we would have liked. I think we have played much better but not come out with the win. This is the time of the season when we need to grind out results and we did that on Tuesday night.

“It was a bit of a brutal return for me. I thought I left on reasonably good terms but I must have got that wrong! It would have been nice to have scored early on to quieten things down but thankfully Roons and Collo got the goals we needed.”

The striker also held praise for the travelling Town fans who he believes have a bigger part to play as the run-in to the campaign continues.

He said: “Our fans were superb again. It’s a bit of a trip down to Yeovil knowing you are going to be open to the elements on the terrace there. They supported us well throughout the game and they can play a big part this weekend too.

“This Saturday is a massive game and our fans can be the twelfth man this weekend. We have to all pull together and our supporters can play their part in helping us achieve the victories we need.”
