McCormack: We can do it

5 May 2013

ALAN McCormack is determined to help the Robins get past Brentford on Monday after seeing Town held back by a late penalty on Saturday afternoon.

The Irishman played 90 minutes against the Bees and played his part in a competitive encounter at The County Ground, which he believes could have gone Town’s way.

He said: “I thought we controlled the game on Saturday but we got a draw out of it. I think we deserved the win but it wasn’t to be.

“We know what we have to do on Monday and everything will come down to that one. We played at Griffin Park quite recently so we know what to expect.

“We will show them respect but we will take the game very seriously. Things can change at the flip of the coin, we know that, but it’s a match we will look forward to."

Having seen the Robins concede so late on, the Town skipper revealed he is more determined than ever to help his side reach Wembley.

He continued: “The end of the game made me more determined and angry to go and get the win on Monday. Brentford have to come out and beat us on Monday, but we know we are good on the counter-attack.

“If we can get to our best then we can produce the goods and I’m sure we will do it on Monday.”
