TRAK Employment Solutions’ “Swindon Allsorts” were crowned champions at Sunday’s Corporate 8-a-side tournament at The County Ground.
The event was a great success with eight corporate sides taking part. Each team played seven matches lasting twelve minutes on half-size pitches. The teams battled it out in a tight opening round with the top five teams finishing within two points of each other in the table.
The final was played in the rain between Mercedes Benz’s “The Tangerine Dream Team” against TRAK Employment Solutions’ “Swindon Allsorts”. Going into the final, The Tangerines had won four, drawn one and lost two of their games. The Swindon Allsorts had a record of three wins and four draws. The final was played over 15 minutes with Swindon Allsorts running out 2-1 winners.
Jo Sear, Swindon Town’s Head of Conferencing and Events, was delighted with how the event panned out: “A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part in the day,” she said. “Special thanks must also go to Football in the Community for supplying the equipment and for their support during the running of the event.
“Thank you also to our referees who gave up their time for free.”
