Cooper: I wanted desire

12 November 2013

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon's win over Wycombe at SN1.

On the win...
We played quite well at times. We have to play to get openings but the more tired Wycombe got I always felt we'd get back in to it. I always felt that if we got one we might get another. We played well in the 1st half but every time the ball goes into the box we look shaky and that's something we have to address.

On the performance...
It was important to get a reaction. You saw tonight that the players care. We played some good stuff at times but the way we play we are not going be able to be scintillating for 90 mins.

On Ryan Harley's return..
It was his first game after he had 10/15 minutes at the weekend. We planned to give him and Yaser (Kasim) a half each and he was good. He was creative, he looked fit and he's another technically good player for us.

On Nicky Ajose...
He's come in and scored two more goals. He just scored goals but we have to have more than that not just from him but all the strikers as do the rest of the team.

On the formation...
We went back to a back four. Nathan Thompson is still injured so Nathan Bryne played at right back who played well. Louis (Thompson) came in and didn't let anybody down he energetic and dynamic. All I asked for was desire. We know we can play football but all I wanted was desire and we got it.
