Cooper: Very Pleased

16 November 2013

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon’s 2-1 win at Colchester.

On the win…
I’m very pleased. I thought we were outstanding and it’s nice when it comes off. What a difference a week makes. The pleasing thing is we’ve come away from home and won. The most pleasing aspect was when it went to 2-1 people might have thought we’d wobble but we could have extended our lead.

On the gameplan…
We wanted to stay in the game. We wanted to let their centre-backs have the ball and then try and hit  them on break with two wide strikers. It should have been over before it was and we should have won by a far bigger margin.

On Louis Thompson…
You know what Louis is going to give us. He’ll run through heaven and high earth to get a result same as his brother.

On the tactical set-up
The way we set up it was difficult to get Pritchard in. The way the four boys played in midfield worked well. It’s pleasing we had three long sessions on it with today in mind and it’s pleasing when that comes off. We know we can play it and that it works but we always have to be flexible.
