Cooper: We had to be patient

30 November 2013

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon’s 3-1 win over Carlisle.

On the result…
I felt we totally dominated. In the first half, we played some good stuff. They made it difficult but we had to be patient and scored a good goal. In the second half they pressed and they scored; we didn't defend it well enough and find ourselves at 1-1. Alex Pritchard has then scored a fantastic free-kick and we sealed it at the end. I thought we played quite well.

On the timing of the goals...
The timing was vital. It was important to get back in front really quickly then Dany N'Guessan comes straight off the bench to score.

On Alex Pritchard...
He's a young lad coming to terms with senior football. They have ups and downs and you have to take them out of the team at the right time. He's had a couple of games rest and hopefully today has seen the fruits of that rest.

On the second half...
Carlisle have to come and have a go. They stuck a few balls in the box but I always felt we were in control though.

On the mini-break...
We're going to give players a rest. They deserve a rest and as much as we'd like to play next week, hopefully we'll feel the benefit against Stevenage.
