Cooper: We got through

8 October 2013

TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after Swindon’s victory over Plymouth.

On the result…
It was good that we managed to change one or two things and get through the tie. It wasn’t the most scintillating 1st half but we were excellent in the second half. Full credit to Plymouth they made it difficult for us. It was a useful exercise - we got through without too many scrapes and got the chance to have a look at a few fringe players.

On the performance…
In the first half the football was great and we easily could have been three or four goals to the good. If you don’t take chances you leave yourselves open but we ground it out and won the tie. We sat too deep in the second half and made it easier for Plymouth to get out.

On the winning goal….
It was a good finish by Ajose. It was nice interplay in the build-up and a nice bendy finish into the far corner.

On last minute changes…
It was very late. Wes got progressively worse and Ty had to play. I thought he did very well – he was very calm. He made a couple of good saves, took some good crosses and his distribution was good.
