MASSIMO Luongo says that he will be claiming Town’s second goal against Rotherham as his own.
The midfielder’s effort on the stroke of half-time took a deflection off a Millers defender before looping into the net.
“Yeah, I’ll claim it,” he smiled. “It was a good build up from us. We’re creating chances and getting in the box, even if we don’t get shots off. I’ll happily get a shot away and take a bit of fortune but it goes in the net and it’s another one for me for the season."
Speaking after Saturday’s 4-0 win at the New York Stadium, Luongo says that Town deserved the win after weathering an early storm.
“It was good because we deserved a few goals”, he admitted. “Some think 2-0 is not a good score at half time but I think we deserved something. We came here to get our first away win and getting two goals in the first half gives us a confidence boost and a bit of a safety net coming into the second half.
“In the first 20 minutes, we’ve got to weather the storm a little bit because they come at us really hard and really quick but we know if we weather that storm, we can push forward and play our game.”
