Performance of the Week Award

17 October 2013

THE League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the LMA Performance of the Week Award should go to Swindon Town following their excellent 4-0 away win against Rotherham United in Sky Bet League One on 12 October 2013.

Swindon manager Mark Cooper will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.

Swindon won the tenth LMA Performance of the Week Award of the season to secure victory at the New York Stadium.

Goals from Alex Pritchard, Massimo Luongo, Nicky Ajose and Dany N'Guessan secured the impressive win for the visitors which moved them up to seventh place in Sky Bet League One.

After the match, Cooper was delighted with the result;

"I thought we were very, very good today.

"We put another defender in and we asked one of our full-backs to stay at home rather than both going (forward) at the same time.

"We still created numerous chances, some of the football was outstanding again.

"Plenty of pats on the back, they get a little bit of time to themselves now before we play again against Notts County."
