SWINDON Town FC will appear on the new MONOPOLY:Swindon board.
Town will be one of three sports landmarks, who each appear on a pink set.
Clare Scarth, Head of Retail and Ticketing at the Club, today thanked everyone who voted for the Football Club to be included on the board.
She said: “Swindon Town FC are proud to be part of this special Swindon edition of MONOPOLY and would like to thank all those who voted the County Ground a landmark that they would like to see on the board.”
This set is one of nine different Swindon-themed sets (eight property sets; one travel set) on the brand new customised board – which hits shop shelves, both online and in stores, on Friday October 11th.
Dan Taylor, Head of Custom Games at Winning Moves UK - who are producing the board under official license from MONOPOLY owners Hasbro - said: “We are delighted to reveal our first full set.
“We are also very pleased to announce the board will be launched on Friday October 11th.
“More than 2,000 landmarks, streets or roads could potentially have appeared on the board. Realistically around 220 were in the running so many congratulations to the owners of this set!”
Earlier this year when news of the board was announced, the Swindon public was invited to vote as to which town property landmarks should be selected to swap places with the famous London sites and sights.
The board is themed largely around sets – heritage, arts, sport, commerce, public parks, transport, entertainment and other categories.
Winning Moves UK already report inquiries to buy the board have come as far away as Australia, the US and China.
