Robins aim to tame Wolves

13 September 2013

SWINDON earned a valuable point at MK Dons last weekend which makes it three games unbeaten in the league. A trip to title favourites, Wolves, will be their toughest assignment yet.

Since they were promoted to the league last season, the Robins have had as many wins (3) as losses when travelling to the strong teams like Wolves.  In fact, the three wins at top-six teams were all by two goals or more and that’s not altogether surprising as the Robins have conceded in only three of their 10 away wins since the start of last season.

However, what’s more telling about Swindon when they travel is that the majority of games have had fewer than three goals.  Under 2.5 goals has occurred in 17 of Swindon’s 26 away games in this league and that includes seven of their last eight away. Although Wolves have been scoring goals lately, they haven’t conceded many and that’s another reason to take the 4/5 on offer for under 2.5 goals.

Other reasons to bet:

Swindon have scored first in four of their last five matches. 6/4
Robins have been leading at half-time in three of their last four matches. 100/30
Of the teams to have played 20 games in the league, Swindon have the 3rd best record for winning the 2nd half in away matches. 11/8
