TOWN Manager Mark Cooper spoke to the media after victory over Brentford.
On the result
It was a proper game. It was like a cup final, end to end, neither team left anything in the tank, both benches were up and down. You could see what was at stake to Brentford. They're a very powerful team, very good with very experienced players. I fully expect them to get promotion and stay in the Championship. The first half was very good I thought we played particularly well. In the second half we didn't keep the ball well enough which led to us coming under pressure. Once we got in the lead we had the right mindset to hold on to it. It's never easy to play against ten men. Brentford throw everything and leave nothing to chance, they had one or two little opportunities and we stood up to it but we didn't keep the ball well enough.
On tactical decisions...
We played a system to catch them on the break which worked quite well in the first half. We probably could have killed the game at half time but it's three points and we're very happy. We put three up against them to stop that and make them kick it long but they've got some good players. We had two wide players with pace and four across the middle. It's worked and we've won.
On the goal...
we tried to set a trap for them and to go into that area then press it. Louis pressed, won the ball and he's prolific now.
On the end to the season...
I've said for the last month we want to finish as well as we can. I said to the players before the game "you're playing against one of the top two, you need to gauge where you are up against them". We've got no right to be beating these teams - man for man, on paper we shouldn't be competing but fair play to our boys.
