Cooper: We Kept Our Principles

12 August 2014

TOWN Manager, Mark Cooper, spoke to the media after the Capital One Cup victory at Luton.

On the performance...
We kept going, we kept our principles even though we went a goal down. I felt we were always on top of the game and we came through in the end. I thought for the whole game we dominated possession. We missed a couple of chances in the first half but we kept going. They kept passing the ball and made Luton work. I thought we wore them out and that's why we got the goal.

On the second goal...
That's utopia. That goal comes from a lot of work tiring them out. Gaps then appear, Massimo slips him (Smith) in and great finish. That's four goals in two games for him.

On Michael Smith...
We love him to bits and the boys love him to bits. He works his socks off and when you work that hard, you get your rewards.

Looking ahead...
(That's) two games, two wins and we've played some good football. Nothing changes: we go back to work on Thursday.
