Cooper: We Were Comfortable

23 August 2014

MARK Cooper spoke to the media after Town's 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

On the performance...
I thought we were comfortable. It was a different kind of display, we had to be very patient, Crewe gave us the respect and did not give us any space in behind. Teams are not going to come here and make it easy for us but I didn't feel we were ever in trouble. We totally dominated the game again.

On patience...
When you have the possession stats that we have, teams get worried about being pulled all over the pitch. We believe in what we're doing and sooner or later the gap will open up.

On Yaser Kasim's free-kick...
Yaser's lost about 25 balls so far at Liddington and I've got nettle rashes from fetching all his balls but it was well worth it with the practise. It was a great finish and he was outstanding again. We had opportunities to make it 2-0 earlier on but football doesn't work like that. We kept going and scored a lovely goal.

On Andy Williams...
He's got a history of going on runs and scoring goals so we hope that keeps going.

On the result...
After today, we have started pretty well and the league table makes decent reading tonight.
