LOUIS Thompson believes that Town can be proud of their performance against Brighton despite exiting the Capital One Cup after extra time.

Speaking to the media after the game, the midfielder reflected on a bittersweet night for the Town at SN1.

"The boys can be proud of our performance tonight," he said. "It's testament to the character the boys put in. They are happy in the dressing room, they can take great pride from that performance."

"You miss chances but you score chances as well. You don't expect the Brighton lad to score his first chance and that can be the difference. Unfortunately, we had to work for our goals."

"We always knew a goal was coming with the amount of chances we created. You can tell that I'm personally disappointed we didn't win that game. We move onto Saturday now and pick up the three points there."
